Real Salt Lake vs Los Angeles
- really amazing that LA is still unbeaten, 10-2-0 22/3, even without Donovan and Buddle their two best offensive players but that could end tonight. Last match for each before the WC break and LA lead the west by an astounding 12 points over 2nd placed RSL, the champs of 2009. RSL on a great streak after a slow start, now unbeaten in 6 (5-1-0) overall and unbeaten in 15 at Rio Tinto Stadium. They will miss striker Findley with USMNT but he is not their starter anyway and they should be the much fresher team as this is only their 2nd league match in 27 days where LA will be playing their 5th game in 25 days. There are really no negatives I can speak of for either team and weather will be perfect. RSL will have the altitude advantage but nothing has separated these teams for 5 years so nothing to expect but another close match tonight. 10 straight meetings have been decided by, max, 1 goal (RSL 3-5-2) with 5 of last 6 meetings ending in a draw, including the MLS Cup final that RSL won in penalties. Holding MF, Kyle Beckerman, remains absent from RSL's lineup but DF, Chris Wingert, will be ready to go. LA won at home, 2-1, earlier this year with 2 goals from Buddle but tonight no Donovan and Buddle and 3 other key MF (Juninho, Kovalenko, Magee) are gametime decisions due to leg injuries. Should be a great game with RSL's 15 game home unbeaten streak on the line and LA's 12 game season unbeaten streak on the line. LA are the better defensive team and RSL the better offensive team so I'll go with the home altitude advantage for a small bet.
